What would you suggest for Bass fishing a new Pond?

Posted on April 28, 2009

I haven't been Bass fishing in quite a while. The weather has been bad so my offshore fishing has been limited. I was told of a lake that has Bass in it. Plastic Worms seem to be the weapon of Choice, but they are only landing smaller ones. The water is warm and the pond isn't all that big. I was thinking about just going for the gusto and hanging a live shiner under a Bobber. Think that will do the trick or would you go for the Artificial approach?

I’d do a little bit of both!

    I’d bring 2-3 rods.

One rigged for floating 6-8″ Shiners.

One rigged/designated as a “soft plastic” rod.

    One rigged for Spinnerbaits.

If you want to catch the “Big Boys” concentrate on Shiner fishing.

Sidenote: I read a bit about your “room-mate situation”. Hope things have improved? (What an absolute HASSLE for you!)
